Power lines and substations
Structured electrical infrastructure records to support integrity management.

Application and objective
Towers, connections, insulators and other components require systematic observation. Drone inspections can support visual and thermal documentation while respecting safety distances, flight restrictions and the asset operator’s procedures.
Acquisition and quality criteria
Records can be linked to tower, span, equipment or component identifiers. Planning considers electromagnetic interference, obstacles, observation distance and site procedures. Visual inspection documents apparent conditions; classification and confirmation follow criteria agreed with the technical team.
What the project can cover
- —Inventory of inspection points and asset identification.
- —Planning of routes, approaches and safety conditions.
- —Recording of components and evidence of apparent changes.
Planned deliverables
Asset-linked images, observation locations and documentation for maintenance team review. Thermography and technical classification depend on the agreed scope.
Does not replace electrical testing, contact inspections or engineering assessment. Operations near energised facilities require risk assessment and the asset operator’s approval.
Identified records
Images and observations organised using the asset reference defined for the project.
Agreed outputs
Formats, analysis depth and acceptance criteria established in the proposal.
Information for project assessment
Provide the location, approximate extent, asset type, objective, schedule and any access restrictions. Feasibility and final scope are confirmed after assessing these conditions.
Discuss this service ↗Frequently asked questions
Can I commission a one-off survey?
Yes. The proposal may cover one survey or recurring campaigns, subject to the objective, feasibility and access conditions.
Does the survey replace a technical assessment?
Not automatically. Data acquisition, analysis and formal technical assessment are distinct activities. Where required, professional responsibility and associated documentation must form part of the scope.
