Thermal inspection
Thermal information to investigate anomalies and guide maintenance.

Application and objective
Aerial thermography reveals surface temperature differences across components and facilities. Surveys are planned around the asset, the analysis objective and operating conditions so imagery supports more than the visual identification of a hot spot.
Acquisition and quality criteria
Acquisition considers emissivity, reflected apparent temperature, observation distance and environmental conditions. Where quantitative analysis is included, measurement parameters and delivery of compatible radiometric files are defined in the scope. Interpretation considers operating conditions and comparison of equivalent components.
What the project can cover
- —Definition of components, areas and acquisition conditions.
- —Capture of correlated thermal and visible images.
- —Organisation of observations by asset and location.
Planned deliverables
Image set, identified observations and a report according to the agreed scope. Radiometric data, severity criteria and specialist analysis must be explicitly defined in the proposal.
Emissivity, reflections, wind, solar radiation and operating load affect readings. A thermal anomaly alone is not a fault diagnosis.
Identified records
Images and observations organised using the asset reference defined for the project.
Agreed outputs
Formats, analysis depth and acceptance criteria established in the proposal.
Information for project assessment
Provide the location, approximate extent, asset type, objective, schedule and any access restrictions. Feasibility and final scope are confirmed after assessing these conditions.
Discuss this service ↗Frequently asked questions
Can I commission a one-off survey?
Yes. The proposal may cover one survey or recurring campaigns, subject to the objective, feasibility and access conditions.
Does the survey replace a technical assessment?
Not automatically. Data acquisition, analysis and formal technical assessment are distinct activities. Where required, professional responsibility and associated documentation must form part of the scope.
